HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in our volunteer program, which includes high school students, college students, community members and older adults. We are looking for mentors and tutors who are dedicated to developing meaningful relationships with youth, providing youth with a safe place, and having fun!
Programming takes place at Community Bridges Beacon, located at Everett Middle School, and St. John´s Tutoring Center located at Marshall Elementary School. Volunteer opportunities include:
º Providing homework assistance
º Leading reading/math workshops, arts activities or recreational games
º Working with students in classrooms
Our goal is to create an open learning environment in an intergenerational community, where all participants are valued and respected, by offering academic enrichment activities to children and youth.
Mentors and tutors volunteer a minimum of 2 hours a week for at least 6 months. There are no job requirements and volunteers receive ongoing training and individual support from staff.
Stipends are available for high school students and senior citizen volunteer mentors.
